IRONWOOD – What will become of the site of the former Norrie School Building which is now a large vacant lot?  Late last week we got a potential answer as the Ironwood City Commission approved a request by the Ironwood Area Schools District to sign a release of reverter in relation to property.  The unanimous action, with all members present, now opens the site to housing construction by a yet unnamed local developer.  Ironwoods community development director Tom Bergman says A local developer would like to purchase the property from the ISD to start a housing development, with plans to start building as soon as possible and hopes to build 2 homes yet this year.  City staff has met with the developer but who the developer is has not been released to the public.
