ONTONAGON COUNTY - The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is holding a surplus land auction. Parcels in Houghton and Ontonagon counties will be part of that auction on Wednesday. Surplus land sales help the DNR manage the land it oversees and provides necessary funds to acquire critical land for the public to provide future outdoor opportunities. Interested bidders may pre-register and get more information about the online auction schedule at michigan.gov/landforsale. Those interested must register before the auction date. Separate from the online auctions, the DNR is offering additional properties — listed for sale at their former minimum bid prices — that were not sold in previous auctions. These properties are available for immediate purchase only via the BuyNow list on the website.
