OMA / IRON COUNTY – The Iron County Health Department has issued a health advisory for ALL of Pine Lake in Iron County including the Pine Lake North Boat Ramp due to the widespread blue-green algae blooms.  Some species of blue-green algae can produce toxins that can make humans and animals sick.  Signs have been posted along Pine Lake to warn the public.  Exposure to Blue-Green algae in humans could result in upset stomach, abdominal cramps, respiratory issues, wheezing, eye irritation, rash, hives and blisters. Symptoms typically begin within minutes or a few hours of exposure.
