HURLEY - Several communities in Northern Wisconsin, including Hurley, will receive funding for safe and clean drinking water. Hurley, Antigo, Rhinelander, Three Lakes and Medford will receive funding towards improving their drinking water and Marshfield will receive funding toward lead service line replacement. Many communities struggle with harmful contaminants in their drinking waters, including lead and other chemicals. There are more than 167,000 lead service lines in Wisconsin communities. The goal, set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is to replace all of those lead lines by 2037.
